Star, Life, and Eagle

Once the Scout has completed the FCE program, the focus then shifts to the higher ranks of Star, Life and Eagle, where leadership skills and service are the main emphasis.

These ranks require the Scout to earn a specific number of merit badges (explained under Merit Badges Program), a number of which are "Eagle-required" merit badges. Each rank has a requirement that the Scout hold a Position of Responsibility (or office) within the Troop for a period of time (explained under Positions of Responsibility).

The Scout must also remain active in the Troop by attending meetings and campouts, and demonstrating Scout Spirit by completing some meaningful task related to Scout Spirit that is appropriate to the rank and approved by the Scoutmaster (explained under Scout Spirit). Each rank aslo requires the completion of service hours, except that Eagle Scout requires completion of a specific Eagle Scout Service Project.
